IT Valuation
Based on the data collected during the workshop, reference processes and corporate business processes, the Atana (Alternative Analysis) approach supports decision makers in defining the optimal level of security investments. Atana consists of two phases: In the first phase, all safeguard portfolios that are both feasible (i.e., fulfill all constraints and interdependencies between security safeguards) and Pareto-efficient with respect to the given objectives are determined. During the second phase, the identified solutions are subjected to an interactive screening method. By taking this approach, Atana substitutes existing evaluation approaches and provides decision makers with "true" multi-objective decision support. The final selection of an optimal portfolio is supported by an interactive graphic interface that allows for elaboration of the defined categories for costs and benefits. The interactive selection allows decision makers to "playfully" explore the solution space of all efficient portfolios until finding one that matches their preferences.
